A joint initiative between IHS and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) answers the increasing demand for online access to standards. IHS contributes its web delivery technology to aid in the organization's distribution of national engineering and safety standards. The result is a single point for the purchase of standards, collections and related information products. www.standardsstore.ca.

The Standards Council of Canada is a Crown corporation with the mandate to promote efficient and effective voluntary standardization. The SCC is involved in coordinating Canada's participation in the development of international standards through organizations such as the International Standards Organization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and, as Canada's national standardization body, oversees the National Standards System.

In addition to national publications, the SCC's standard store offers international products from ISO, IEC, the American Petroleum Institute (API), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and other widely used references. Users looking for standards information and regular updates can subscribe to Standards Alert, the SCC's e-mail notification service of new and revised Canadian and international standards.
