IHS Reference Linking Solutions

IHS Reference Linking Solutions provide secured direct access to critical external content (e.g. specifications, standards & regulations) referenced from within your organization's documents and workflow processes. View a Flash presentation about IHS Reference Linking Solutions.

How It Works:

  • Your data is referenced within a variety of applications (e.g. Microsoft, PDF, HTML), Document Management Systems (e.g. PLM, PDM, EMS, etc.), and design tools
  • Each reference is given a unique document identification
  • Links are embedded in your data that contain an IHS Link URL, Document Identification, Your Identification and User Code
  • User clicks on reference and is directly linked to correct document

Benefits of IHS Reference Linking Solutions technology:

  • Seamlessly assures that the appropriate specification, standard & regulation (i.e. specific version or most current document) is available at the point of need
  • Offers global operational consistency by everyone working from the same documents (i.e. document control)
  • Provides standardization of reference nomenclature
  • Accelerates information search & retrieval process, alerting users to any revision changes
  • Allows for more effective administrative control & data recovery planning
  • Demonstrates compliance to internal procedures or regulatory requirements

IHS Reference Linking Solutions allow an organization to more easily demonstrate compliance to internal procedures or external regulatory requirements.
